Dogtra ARC802

£395.00 inc. VAT

The Dogtra ARC802 is suitable for medium to large breeds of dog depending on temperament.

DO NOT BUY THIS COLLAR IF YOUR DOG HAS A VERY SLENDER NECK. I WOULD SAY MINIMUM SIZE IS A GOOD SIZED SPRINGER.

The Dogtra ARC802 is the two dog version of the ARC800 The ergonomic low profile design means that the Dogtra ARC802 is very discreet and difficult to detect as an electric collar device unless closely examined.

  • Good quality solid units long battery life shape of the receiver fits very well around the contour of the dogs neck, very discreet and does not appear to bother them wearing it as previous usual shaped collars did.
My only reason for not giving 5 star is the vibration setting is very weak compared to other units we have used, to the point that the dogs do not feel the stimulation when in pray drive mode making it very difficult to enforce the vibration as a warning before the shock, longer prongs may eliminate this, which I will order to see if it makes any difference.
I’m not a great fan of using the stimulation of a shock in my two German shepherds but I believe it’s a small price to pay for the dogs for complete freedom when out and about rather than on a lead all the time, both are working breed German shepherds with very high pray drive and highly trained dogs but put a rabbit or deer in there path running and no amount of training has stopped them from hitting that pray drive mode and switching off there ears and eyes for hand signals, luckily or unluckily I have had to use the shock setting twice since receiving on a very low setting for the size of the dogs, setting 40 and instantly has snapped them out of the pray drive state and they have returned, no worse off for the experience and shows them I am in control. Like said the only thing I would change is the vibration as I like to give them the opportunity the stop there behaviour before I need to use the eshock function.
