In December 2025 the UK Labour government announced that it will be starting a new animal welfare strategy consultation throughout 2026 and into the lifespan of the current parliament. One of the areas they wish to consult on is the use of E-Collars or, in their incorrect terminology "Shock Collars for the training of dogs.!
Quite rightly this has created serious concern throughout the dog owning public and professional dog training community who use e-collars with their dogs to address issues such as prey chase including livestock worrying and reactivity.
For many dog owners it is simply not an option to always keep dogs on leash or not walk their dogs where there is livestock present. Many use E-Collars as a safety net to allow dogs to explore their environment under control which in turn keeps other animals such as sheep, cattle, deer and horses safe from predatory canine behaviour.
In response we have setup The National Association For Professional E-Collar Training. (NAPET)
NAPET is an organisation which represents dog owners who use E-Collars (No matter what brand) and also represents the balanced dog training community that teaches the ethical use of E-Collars to dog owners.
The board of NAPET feels that regulation is the way forward. Regulation coupled with professional training and a system of CPD with certification that owners have undergone professional training prior to being able to purchase an e-collar for use with their dogs.

We Really Need To Fight This. We are not Criminals, We should Not Be Criminalised For Animal Cruelty Based On A Force Free Narrative Which Is Quite Happy To Euthanase Dogs Which Do Not Respond To Their Limited Training Methodology!
